![]() ![]() ![]() 5 button guitar will not work for GH Live The 6 button guitar only works for "guitar hero live" and there's not much content to be found there. You could also pick up an rgh molded xbox for dlc or try your luck finding someone to license transferring some to you. But if your looking for a slightly active online community with no dead servers then I'd go with xbox 360, and that also means no dongles lol. Nobody really plays wii although its easier to access everything for it so if you don't mind a little uglier graphics and stuff then its okay, its also pretty easy to mod a wii and add dlc to gh6 and gh3 with no issues. Sorry for the wall of text, but if you have any more questions or if my deranged ramblings don't make sense, I'd be happy to explain further!Īs far as console, all ps3 servers are shut down so its dead. If you get CH instead of GH, you'll need these two links. That being said, however, PS4 Rock Band 4 guitars work via bluetooth, so if the PC has bluetooth capability, that will work (this is what I use). Wireless GH guitars work via dongles, so I'd try and stick with wired if you go this route. Wii-tars work via the raphnet adapter and anything with a wired usb plugin will work perfectly. Compatible guitars are basically limitless. Downside is that you don't get the same feeling as you do while playing the actual games because there is no animated band accompanying the music. It's easy to set up and easy to add songs. It's a fan-made "modded" version of GH that lets you have every song from every GH and Rock Band game, as well as thousands upon thousands of custom charts made by the community. If you don't want to buy a whole console just to play and you already have a decent computer (something made for more than browsers and within the last 5 or so years), you can get Clone Hero ( r/CloneHero). ![]() Rock Band guitars also work on any GH game after GH3 (again, except Live). Try and stay away from the WoR guitar, though quality is iffy at best on those ones. The GH2 Gibson SG is a safe bet, and so is the GH3/Aerosmith Gibson Les Paul guitars. I've also heard the WT and GH5 guitars are good as well, but I can't speak for those two. ![]() I would recommend the Xplorer from GH3 if you're gonna play on X360. As for guitars, any official GH Guitar Controller will work with any game (Except GH: Live). All are on X360 except GH1, which is PS2 only. I would recommend getting the game on Xbox 360 if you're dead set on having an official GH game like the ones listed above (as well as Rock Band 1, 2, and 3). The only game that uses 6-fret is GH: Live. GH1, GH2, GH3: Legends of Rock, World Tour, Smash Hits, Metallica, Van Halen, Aerosmith, GH5, and Warriors of Rock all require the 5-fret (button) guitars you cannot use 6-fret. And well, I dont like baterries but if there is no other option.Īny advice will be very wellcome, thanks very much and sorry for the long post! I prefer not to use the dongle, sounds complicated. We are leaning towards buying the Wii ( we dont have the ps3, xbox or wii, we will buy the console because of the GH game) do u think its a wise option? We are not thinking about the Ps3 cause its more expensive. Hey guys, so I just found this subreddit cause my bf and myself wanted to buy the guitar hero (any game 1-5 I'll say) but this far it has been complicated to understand it, so I came her to ask for your wisdom over this matter.ĪFAIK it looks like between the old 5 bottoms-guitar and the new-6 live guitar, I should go for the old, cause the new one only works for the new games, am I right? Like no the ones GH1-5 Do u know exactly which games can be played with the new one?Īt the same time, all guitars look expensive and the new one looks like the cheapest and nice looking too. ![]()
